Buffett Concert, southern cool

Jimmy Buffett has never been very mainstream. He's not beach really, not country, not rock. He's Jimmy Buffett--just plain and simple.

I got hooked on Buffett back in college in the early 80s. Well really, I started in high school, but I didn't hit a concert until of a more mature age.

Last night we hit Buffett in Charlotte. As luck would have it, it poured the rain starting about five minutes after the show started. And, this was outdoor seating. No problem. A good mud fest is just fine in Carolina.

If you like to cook outdoors (and who doesn't?), then tailgating is a rite of passage at Buffett concerts. The food is super, but watching the people is even better. You'll never see such a mixed crowd gathered in any one spot.

I have some photos and text up at my blog and will be getting some more up over the next couple of days. Take a gander. You will be sitting there watching the tickets for Buffett next time. And, click fast. Those tickets go in a heap big hurry.
