Satisfy your sweet tooth with a quick and easy no-bake bar recipe combining peanut butter and chocolate.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars can be mixed up quickly. The only cooking involved is in melting the chocolate. That doesn't take long either.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
1 18 oz. jar of peanut butter (crunchy is especially good)
2 sticks margarine (leave out to get to room temperature or close)
1 lb. confectioners sugar
1 TBS. vanilla flavoring
1 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips
Directions:
Cream together peanut butter, margarine, sugar and vanilla. Spread the mixture in a 9 x 13 baking or casserole dish. Use your fingers to mash the mixture out evenly and fairly tightly into the pan.
Melt the chocolate chips. This works best in a double boiler. If the chips are trying to stick or are looking too thick, add just a little bit of vegetable oil. Stir constantly until the chocolate is melted and can be poured.
Pour chocolate on top of the peanut butter base mix and spread evenly.
Let chocolate set.
Cut the mixture into bars and serve.
