Don't heat up the kitchen. Make No Cook Butterfinger Pudding. It's easy to whip up, only three ingredients. Plus, this summer pudding dish tastes devine.
When it gets hot in the south, it gets hot. If you live in an area where you don't get humidity, then be thankful. You can feel southern heat pushing against your body like water in the pool. You get as wet as swimming too if you exert any effort at all.
Heat doesn't stop southerners from eating good. It does mean that there are a lot of recipes that can be made without turning on the stove.
OK. Laugh about all the Jell-o and Cool Whip recipes down south, but don't pass them by without giving them a try. These cool dishes may have started out as treats without heat, but many are "keepers" (as we can them in the south).
One of our favorites is:
Directions:
If you're one of those southerners who stocks up on Cool Whip and has the tubs in the freezer, then take a tub out the night before.
Mix the cool but not frozen Cool Whip with the instant pudding mix. Do NOT make it into pudding. Just use the powder.
Crumble up the Butterfiner candy bar. Fold it in. In other words, don't stir heck out of it. Just get it evenly spread around in the fluffy stuff.
That's it. Very easy. Very tasty.
This is one of my southern Kid Friendly recipes. Even tiny types can make this one. And, I've yet to find a kid who didn't like No Cook Butterfinger Pudding.
Another fun summer recipe that is always a hit with the kids is Zip Lock Baggie Ice Cream.
