Lance Snack Products are Safe and Yummy

Don't Let the Peanut Butter Recall Stop You From Buying Lance

Feb 15, 2009 Cyndi Allison

Yes! It's imporant to be safe, but do not rule out all companies with peanut butter products. Lance is not part of the recall on peanut butter in 2009.

Lance is a major snack company in the South with high quality products that are convenient and tasty.

With the peanut butter scare on, some people are avoiding all products with peanut butter. It is important that the public be aware when there are issues with our food supplies, but it’s a real shame when companies not involved suffer when announcements go out about certain foods.

Lance Products are Safe

Lance is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, and their products are not part of the peanut butter recall – period.

Products include Toastchee, Thunder, Captain’s Wafers, Gold n Cheese, and Outpost brands. One of the most popular in the South is Toastchee. Those are the orange colored crackers with peanut butter sandwiched between.

On-The-Go Snacks

With all the Lance products, one big plus is that they are so portable. You can slip them in your purse or glove box or pack them in a backpack to take on a camping trip.

If you can find a RC Cola or Cheerwine (both Southern soft drinks) to wash down your Lance snacks, all the better.

There are other brands that are similar to Lance. You can find other orange peanut butter crackers or other little cheese cracker snacks (like the Gold n Cheese), and those can be checked as well in terms of the recall. Just visit company home pages.

A Company with a History

Lance goes back to the early 1900s and has maintained quality standards while making changes over time. They were innovative in adding vending machines, so you can just drop in some coins and grab your snacks and go. They were also the first snack company to take trans fats out of all crackers and cookies in the line.

Lance is also a company that took an interest in food allergies early on. They list a lot of data on the web site, and if you have questions, you can call 1-800-99LANCE or email fresh@lance.com.

If you’re having an urge for some orange peanut butter crackers, Lance products are not involved and are safe to buy and eat.
