Free Recipe Cooking Magazine

Southern folk love free stuff especially when it’s GOOD free stuff. Kraft Food’s Food & Family magazine definitely makes the grade.

My friend Robin shared this great freebie at her Fresh Cooking From Your Garden blog. I check her space often, because she always comes up with some great stuff.

When I see "free," I do hesitate. It's easy to get burned online. You click something and the next thing you know you're in spam or spyware heaven.

That's not how it goes with Kraft Foods Magazine. I signed up and got the spring issue and then, just this week, the summer issue. They didn't start spamming me or overloading my email box with junk.

Actually, I thought that I'd be getting a skimpy little booklet, but NO. This freebie is a real magazine with loads of recipes and ideas. The spring issue focused on sweets, and the summer magazine hits grilling hard. Both of those are right up my alley.

The magazine also includes some coupons as well as information about the web site where you can enter your recipes and perhaps be featured. I think everyone should just hurry right over and tell Kraft Foods that I should be the next featured foodie. Just kidding. But, I'll bet a lot of readers out there could share something that would WOW the Kraft people.

It's amazing how many products are made by Kraft. Start watching those labels. If you're just thinking cheese (which is almost always a good addition to southern dishes), then you're missing the big picture.

I think other companies may take note. This is a really good marketing idea. I eagerly await my Kraft magazine, and I hope they continue the program. They delivered just as promised and more than expected. That's the kind of freebie I love.

I got my last free issue of Kraft this week. I've been getting it since 2007. I'm sad that they are charging now. I believe that if you ordered it before they started charging they are going to finish out your yearly subscription, but after that they start charging $5.99 for a yearly subscription.
